Hello art friends! It's been a while and I have a lot to catch up with. I have been very busy over on YouTube but have not done a very good job updating the blog. So I'm going to try and catch up!
I'm on the Shawn Petite Creative team and loved her fall stencils soooo much I decided to do a series. Fall has always been my favorite season. You can hear more about why in the video for the first project.
The first project was a 10 x 10 canvas.
I have no decorative painting skills and a project like this would not have been possible without Shawn's stencils.
You can check out the video tutorial below!

Today's project is all about mixed media collage using Tim Holtz Paper Dolls, and in the video I share design tips .... details on how I developed the layout and how I decided where to place the focal point and other elements in the foreground. I also crashed my stash with this one. So rewarding to use some of it. Some of it goes all the way back to 2003-04! Well I'm sure some of you are hoarders as well, teehee!
I'm 54 and at that stage of life where I really am asking myself this question. My son is 33 and my daughter is 30. Where has the time gone?? I look at photo's when they were little and reflect on what I wish I had done differently. But it's also rewarding to watch them as adults. And it's so much fun being a grandma - Gigi

Inspired by Marta's (Maremi Small Art) #meARTime video series - Day 4.
I loved how she used a vertical pattern element, added texture using dies and modeling paste, and the frame / little girls. The Picture Star / Ephemera Backgrounds sets - Artistic Outpost @ Divinity Designs was a great fit.
I'm back today with another art journal process video.
Today's video shares another way to use stenciling in your art journal.
I loved how my last journal entry turned out using the stencil / watercolor technique so I want to continue exploring other ways to use stencil techniuqes in my journal. I hope you are inspired to try this out and if you do please post your project on Instagram using the
